CDC: Antidepressants most prescribed drugs in U.S.
A government study in America has found that antidepressants are more prescribed than pills for blood pressure, headaches, asthma, infections.

The antidepressant drugs like ‘Prozac’ is a household name now. This has become a major cause of concern for the government. Any one simply asking for these is prescribed by the doctor.

In 2005 U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention conducted a study of drugs prescribed in hospitals, and clinics. Out of 2.4 billion drugs, 118 million were antidepressants. Medical representatives are making hay with this kind of situation, and doctors are being requested to refuse free drugs given to them by pharmaceutical companies.
An overwhelmed person does not even feel so anymore as the drugs change the mood making the person feel better/happy. We all know how artificial and shortlived it is.

Depression is not something to be got rid of, but a great opportunity to face one’s true self. If anyone is not able to handle it alone it is better to go for counsel either professional or in the friends circle, without any qualms as it is a phase in everyone’s life.
Nowadays cases of depression in children are escalating as they are not able to cope with peer pressure, heavy study load, little help from parents as there are more working couples than ever, and nuclear families, making the living zone a silent zone except for the television and video games, breeding a feeling of loneliness.
